THE LONE STAR FUGITIVE TASK FORCE ARRESTS EDMOND JOHNSON

Lone Star Fugitive Task Force LogoSan Antonio – On June 13, 2007, the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the San Antonio Police Department’s Repeat Offenders Unit (ROP) apprehended Edmond Johnson, one of the most wanted fugitives from Kenner, Louisiana.

Johnson, 23, was wanted for numerous crimes in Louisiana, including aggravated assault on a police officer; illegal possession of marijuana, crack cocaine, and hydrocodone tablets; resisting an officer; four counts of battery on police officers; criminal trespass; and disturbing the peace. He had been featured in the Wanted by the Law column in the Times Picayune newspaper, the Kenner’s Most Wanted segment of Beyond the Badge on Cox Cable channel K-76, and was posted on the Kenner Police Department website in the Kenner’s Most Wanted section.

Johnson had been at large since April of 2006, when the Kenner Police Department, following up on a Crimestoppers tip, notified the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the ROP unit of the San Antonio Police Department that Johnson was staying in a Hawthorn Suites motel located at 6900 North I-35. Many hours of investigation later, Johnson was in police custody.

United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas LaFayette Collins said, “The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force and the ROP unit have once again shown how federal and local law enforcement can work together to catch any fugitive wanted anywhere in the country.”
