THE LONE STAR FUGITIVE TASK FORCE ARRESTS THOSE ACCUSED OF THE
DEATHS OF TWO INFANTS
San
Antonio – The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested those
responsible for the deaths of the two infant children recently
discovered wrapped in trash bags under a home in the 1300 block of
W. Winnepeg in San Antonio.
At approximately 5:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, the Lone Star
Fugitive Task Force capped one of the largest manhunts to ever take
place in San Antonio when they arrested Valerie Lopez and Jerry
Salazar at a residence in South San Antonio. Lopez is charged with
Capital Murder and is being held on a ten million dollar bond and
Salazar is charged with Injury to a Child and is being held on a one
million dollar bond. Additional felony charges are possible.
The United States Marshal for the Western District of Texas
LaFayette Collins said, “This case highlights the need for a
dedicated unit such as the Lone Star Fugitive Task Force. We
committed all of our resources and expertise to capturing these
fugitives. For those who choose to harm our children be on notice,
we will be right behind you and we will not stop until you are
behind bars”
