| The
primary mission of the Department of Justice Asset Forfeiture
Program is to employ asset forfeiture powers in a manner that
enhances public safety and security. This is accomplished by
removing the proceeds of crime and other assets relied upon by
criminals and their associates to perpetuate their criminal
activity against our society. Asset forfeiture has the power to
disrupt or dismantle criminal organizations that would continue
to function if we only convicted and incarcerated specific
individuals. |

How do
you sell your seized properties and how can I get on your
mailing list?
The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) offers property for sale to the
public which has been forfeited under laws enforced or
administered by the United States Department of Justice, its
investigative agencies (Drug Enforcement Administration, and the
Federal Bureau of Investigation) and certain other federal law
enforcement agencies. The properties offered for sale consist of
residential, commercial real estate and business establishments,
financial instruments, and a wide range of personal property
such as motor vehicles, boats, aircraft, jewelry, art antiques,
and collectibles.
The contractors listed below have been authorized to sell
forfeited property for the USMS Southern District of Texas on a
recurring basis. Please contact the companies listed below for
information on specific properties that are currently available
for sale. These contractors will be able to provide you with
sales locations, dates, and other pertinent information. The USMS does not maintain a mailing list to notify prospective
buyers of upcoming sales. |
