Mid South Fugitive Task Force Ends Fugitive's
14 Year Run in Memphis
On the evening of
Thursday August 2, 2007 members of the United States Marshals
Service Mid South Fugitive Task Force (MSFTF), arrested Alfred
Gasden on Emmet St. in Memphis, TN. Gasden is wanted by the
Jefferson County Parish Sheriff’s Office on a warrant dated
3/15/1993 for Attempted Homicide, Aggravated Rape, and False
Imprisonment. The Mid South Fugitive Task Force received information
from the U.S. Marshals Service Crescent City Fugitive Task Force
regarding Gasden living in Memphis under the alias Alfred Gadson.
MSFTF members set up surveillance at Gasden’s residence and were
able to identify him walking to his mailbox. Gasden was booked in at
the Shelby County Jail where he will await extradition to New
Orleans, LA.
The Mid South Fugitive Task Force is a multi-law enforcement agency
task force comprised of Deputy United States Marshals, Shelby County
Sheriff’s Deputies, and Memphis Police Officers. The Mid South
Fugitive Task Force began in August, 2005 and has been responsible
for arresting over 700 violent and dangerous fugitives.
