United States Marshal Michael W. Roach

Michael W. Roach, U.S. Marshal

     Marshal Roach began his law enforcement career as an officer with the Oklahoma City Police Department in May, 1977.  He served in a variety of positions throughout the department, both as an investigator and supervisor, including the Homicide, Narcotics and Criminal Intelligence/Organized Crime Units. 

     In 1991, Roach was promoted to the rank of captain and assigned to the Chief's Office as the department's Public Information Officer and later, as the commander of the Criminal Intelligence Unit. He returned to the patrol division in 1995 and served as the executive officer to the Deputy Chief of police in charge of the Operations Bureau.

     1999, Marshal Roach was promoted to the rank of major , at which time he assumed the command of one of the department's five, uniformed patrol divisions.  He remained in that position until February, 2002, when he retired from the Oklahoma City Police Department in order to accept the appointment by President George W. Bush as the United States Marshal for the Western District of Oklahoma.

     Marshal Roach is married and has two children and received his AA from Redlands College in 1973.
