Prisoner Property
Prisoner Property

Personal property belonging to inmates is usually stored at the detention facility.  When an inmate is transferred to the Bureau of Prisons, he/she is provided an opportunity to furnish an address for his/her property to be mailed to.  The property is shipped to that address at no cost to the inmate.  If the inmate fails to provide an address, or the property is returned as undeliverable, the property will be destroyed or donated to charity after 30 days.
