United States Marshal John W. Loyd

John W. Loyd, U.S. Marshal

John W. Loyd was appointed by President George W. Bush, after confirmation by the U.S. Senate February 14, 2002, to serve as U. S. Marshal in one of the nations most colorful and historic judicial districts, the Eastern District of Oklahoma.

Marshal Loyd began his law enforcement career in 1979 with the Muskogee Police Department in the City of Muskogee, Oklahoma. The following 9 years, he served in several key positions relating to undercover organized crime investigations, field training for patrol officers and the development and implementation of a special operations team. He was also an officer and active member of the Fraternal Order of Police. In 1987, Marshal Loyd was appointed Deputy U.S. Marshal and while stationed in Muskogee, Oklahoma, traveled extensively throughout the United States and territories, including Puerto Rico. For nearly 15 years he participated in numerous U.S. Marshals Service operations related to fugitive apprehension, drug enforcement, seized asset management, witness security and executive protection.

Marshal Loyd received his Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice from Oklahoma City University and has attended Northeastern Oklahoma State University.
