Dayton U.S. Marshals nab man wanted in Charlotte, NC on two counts of rape

A man wanted by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department on two counts of rape and one count of sexual battery was arrested earlier this morning in Medway, Ohio.

Donald Elsworth Martin, 64, of Charlotte, was charged with two counts of rape, second degree where the victim was physically helpless or disabled, and one count of sexual battery. The assault took place in November of 2005 at Martin’s residence where he and his wife had a group home for mentally disabled persons.

Earlier this month, Martin was spotted in the Clark County Ohio area. Investigators tracked Martin to a trailer park located at 10 Rea Drive in Medway, Ohio. Martin was arrested at that address without incident while eating breakfast in his living room.. A mailbox on the front porch listed the last name of Rowe, however, Martin was the only person living in the trailer.

Martin was transported to the Clark County Jail by Sheriff’s Deputies awaiting extradition to Charlotte, North Carolina.

James Wahlrab, U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio was glad that Martin was quickly apprehended after information was developed regarding his whereabouts.
