  • October 03, 2014 - Deputy U.S. Marshals from Arkansas arrested William Waters III in Ft. Smith, AR. Waters was wanted by the Westlake Police for 2 counts of Unlawful Sexual Conduct with a Child under the age of 16. The charges stem from several occasions when Waters allegedly molested 2 children over the course of many years.
  • October 03, 2014 -  The U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, with the assistance of the Cleveland Police and the Lakewood Police, arrested Omar Ayyesh. Ayyesh was wanted out of Florida by the Broward County Sheriff’s Office for three counts of Attempted Murder.
  • September 17, 2014 - The U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, located and arrested Devanae Griffin. Griffin was wanted by the Akron Police Department for the aggravated murder of Darryl Trammell which occurred August 18, 2014 in Akron.
  • April 04, 2014 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Dashonti Baker at a home in Stone Mountain, Georgia. Baker was indicted yesterday by the Mahoning County Grand Jury and charged with Attempted Murder and two counts of Felonious Assault.
  • March 20, 2014 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested fugitive David Morales this morning at a residence in Lorain. Morales was wanted for Parole Violation in Ohio and also for Possession and Trafficking of Narcotics in Pennsylvania.
  • March 18, 2014 - Today, the U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, with the assistance of the Garfield Heights Police, arrested Robert Mahone. Mahone was wanted by the Cleveland Police Department for aggravated murder.
  • February 19, 2014 - The U.S. Marshal’s Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team arrested Chevarrean Young. Young was wanted by the Cleveland Police for murder. The charges stem from a homicide that occurred on Dec. 18th of last year.
  • January 31, 2014 - Members of the U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested fugitive Jason Sumner. Sumner was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for failure to register as a sex offender. Sumner was convicted in the State of New York of sexual abuse in the first degree and as a requirement of his conviction, he was ordered to register as a convicted sex offender.
  • January 29, 2014 - Early this morning members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and Toledo Police Department arrested Phillip Allen Jr. of Toledo for the murder of James Safadi.
  • January 27, 2014 - At approximately noon on Saturday, members of the Rossford Police Department and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Adolphus Hollingsworth on charges he murdered his estranged wife in 1997.
  • January 18, 2014 - The U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Luis Nitsche. Nitsche was wanted by the Cleveland Police for murder. The charges stem from a homicide that occurred yesterday in Cleveland, OH.
  • January 16, 2014 - The U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Carl Hampton Jr., who was wanted by the South Euclid Police for Felonious Assault. The charges stem from an assault that occurred on December 20, 2013. It is alleged that Hampton beat up a man after a verbal altercation, resulting in the victim's death a week later from his injuries.
  • January 16, 2014 - This afternoon, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Vincent Monroe on charges of Aggravated Assault. The arrest came after NOVFTF received an anonymous text tip leading them to where Monroe was hiding.
  • January 14, 2014 - The U.S. Marshal’s Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Anthony Savage who was wanted by the Cleveland Police for rape. The charges stem from a rape that occurred back in 1994. The Cleveland Police developed new information that Savage was the man they wanted for the rape that was now considered a cold case.
  • January 13, 2014 - Members of the U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, with the assistance of the Ashtabula Police Department, arrested Benjamin Genovese. Genovese was wanted by the Ashtabula County Sheriff’s Office for larceny, by the Mentor Police Department for felony larceny, by the Polk County Florida Sheriff’s Office for felony larceny, by the Florida Department of Corrections for a probation violation, and by the Woodford County Kentucky Sheriff’s Office for failure to pay child support.
  • November 22, 2013 - Fugitive Byron James was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force in Marietta, Georgia. James has been wanted for homicide by the Cleveland Police Department since August 2012.
  • November 19, 2013 - The U.S. Marshals Service's Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested "Dangerous Dozen" fugitive Troy Adamini this morning at a residence in Cleveland. Adamini was wanted for felonious assault.
  • November 08, 2013 - The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force was founded by U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott in 2003 in the aftermath of the death of Cleveland Police Officer Wayne Leon, who was shot and killed by a fugitive. On November 1, 2012, the task force expanded its operations into Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula Counties, and the success is more than anyone ever anticipated.
  • October 31, 2013 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Southern Ohio Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team arrested David King in a residence in Columbus. King was wanted by the Mansfield Police Department for felonious assault, a felony of the 2nd degree, resulting from a confrontation and stabbing that occurred in Mansfield.
  • October 28, 2013 - The U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders and Fugitive Task Force in Houston, TX, arrested murder suspect Tashawn “Boo” Walker. Walker is wanted by the Warren Police Department for the murder of Richard Rollison that occurred this past Saturday.
  • October 24, 2013 - United States Marshal Pete Elliott and Regional Director Todd Ishee of the Adult Parole Authority announce the arrest of one of northern Ohio’s most wanted violent fugitives. Julius Webster was wanted for the robbery and murder of Curtis Leon Marks Jr.
  • October 22, 2013 - Yesterday afternoon, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, Mansfield Police Department, Richland County Sheriff’s Office and Ohio Adult Parole Authority arrested Dorrien Smith in Mansfield. Smith was wanted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office for a sex offender registration violation and on indictment for forgery.
  • October 17, 2013 - U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott is pleased to announce the safe recovery of two infants who were reported missing and endangered when their parents fled with them after an emergency custody hearing. Jennifer Crawford and Christopher Rusyniak were charged with interference with custody after they fled their Ohio residence with the children in order to avoid a court order granting temporary custody of the children to the Lake County Department of Jobs and Family Services.
  • October 17, 2013 - The U.S. Marshals led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is pleased to announce the arrest of Florida fugitive Robert Boggs. Boggs had been wanted by the Lake County Sheriff’s Department in Florida on warrants charging him with multiple counts of sexual battery of a child under 12 years of age, lewd and lascivious molestation of a child under 12 years of age and child abuse.
  • September 05, 2013 - Yesterday, members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, Toledo Division, arrested four sex offenders, including Keith Prater and Raymond Fenton, who are classified as sexual predators. The sexual predator classification is the most severe and offenders are required to register as a Sex Offender every 90 days for the rest of their lives.
  • July 23, 2013 - Convicted sex offender Willard Wigfield, was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Florida Regional Fugitive Task Force and Osceola County Sheriff’s deputies. Wigfield was on bond after pleading guilty to a charge of rape and a warrant was issued after he failed to appear for his sentencing in Lake County Common Pleas Court on July 8th, 2013.
  • June 03, 2013 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) is celebrating their 10th Anniversary of hunting down the worst of the worst criminals wanted in Northern Ohio. The NOVFTF was first established in June 2003 by U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott as he teamed up with various federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in Northern Ohio’s major cities to bring resources together to track down the area’s most violent offenders.
  • April 10, 2013 - U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott, Cuyahoga County Sheriff Frank Bova and Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath announce the arrest of fugitive John Alexander. The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Alexander at a residence in Cleveland. Alexander was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office in connection with a homicide that took place in March of this year.
  • March 28, 2013 - Last night, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Anthony Dowell after a manhunt that lasted almost five months. Dowell was wanted by the Shaker Heights Police Department for attempted homicide.
  • March 27, 2013 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested six (6) individuals during a two-day fugitive operation.
  • March 08, 2013 - U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott announces the arrest of fugitive Bruce McElroy which occurred last night in Elyria. An arrest warrant was issued in August 2012 for McElroy by the Lorain County Sheriff’s Office for failure to register as a sex offender. McElroy has a history of violence and was actively avoiding arrest.
  • March 05, 2013 - Early this morning members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, Toledo Division arrested Cheeley Andrew Hunter on an 8-year old arrest warrant for three counts of raping a 14-year old female in Baldwin County, Alabama.
  • January 30, 2013 - This morning, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Bobby Thomas. Thomas was wanted by the Lakewood Police Department for rape and kidnapping. It is alleged that beginning back in August of 2012 and continuing through October of 2012, Thomas repeatedly raped a child under the age of 14.
  • December 19, 2012 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Anthony “Face” Willis. Willis was wanted by the East Cleveland Police Department for attempted murder and by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for failing to appear on a charge of felonious assault.
  • December 18, 2012 - Over the last two days, the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force has been quite busy rounding up some of the area’s most violent offenders. The team began yesterday morning around 8:00 a.m. and continued into this morning without much break.
  • November 09, 2012 - The arrest of a man wanted on suspicion of Murder marks the 5,000th arrest for the Toledo division of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force since its inception in 2005.  Nathaniel Alexander was arrested late October in Northwood after information was received from the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force in Chicago that Alexander was believed to be in the Toledo area.
  • November 06, 2012 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF), with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offender and Fugitive Task Force (GCVOFTF), arrested James McAlpine and Courtney Greene at America’s Inn in Houston, TX. McAlpine and Greene were wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for two counts of murder.
  • November 02, 2012 - U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott announced today that the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) has made their 30,000th arrest. This milestone arrest occurred yesterday morning in Akron when the NOVFTF arrested John P. Reed, a cold case fugitive wanted for 1984 charges of attempted homicide and armed robbery. Reed is also currently being investigated for failing to register as a sex offender stemming from a 1960 conviction of rape and kidnapping.
  • October 31, 2012 - Members of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force - Richland County Division - arrested Joseph Wilson in Mansfield, OH. Wilson was wanted by the U.S. Marshals on a federal supervised release violation out of the Northern District of Mississippi and by the Washington County, Mississippi, Sheriff’s Office for failure to register as a sex offender.
  • October 12, 2012 - The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF), Youngstown Division, arrested a homicide fugitive who fled to the area from New York City. Based on information received from the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, members of the NOVFTF began an investigation on Alexander Scott who is a suspect in the homicide Bronx resident, Derrick Richardson.
  • October 09, 2012 - On October 5, members of the U.S. Marshals Mountain State Fugitive Task Force in West Virginia arrested William Smith at a hotel in Buckhannon, WV. Smith was wanted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office for Escape, a felony of the 2nd degree. He was also wanted by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority (APA) for violating his parole on an original charge of Felonious Assault as well as by the Lawrence County Sheriff’s Office for Burglary.
  • October 01, 2012 - On May 1, U.S. Marshals announced the arrest of one of Americas Most Wanted and elusive fugitives, known and charged in Ohio under the alias “Bobby Thompson.” Today, U.S. Marshals, with the assistance of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, positively identified “Bobby Thompson” as cold case fugitive John Donald Cody.
  • August 30, 2012 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) Akron Division arrested Leo Moore III. Moore was wanted by the Akron Police Department on the charges of; weapons under disability, carrying a concealed weapon and willful fleeing. Moore was also wanted by the Summit County Sheriff’s Department on drug charges.
  • August 15, 2012 - U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott announces that the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) has arrested fugitive Nathan Summerfield this morning in Wadsworth, OH. Summerfield, who was an Ashland, OH resident, is wanted for the murder of Lynn Jackenheimer, which took place on July 3rd in Dare County (Outer Banks), North Carolina.
  • August 14, 2012 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, with the assistance of the Trumbull County Sheriff’s Office, arrested Marco Correa in Newton Falls, OH. Correa was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police for four counts of felonious assault. It is alleged that Correa was one of five people that were involved in an unprovoked assault at Charlie’s Place on Lorain Ave. in Cleveland that left two people unconscious, permanently blinded a waitress, and broke the jaw of an off-duty Cleveland police officer that stepped in to help the victims.
  • May 01, 2012 - The U.S. Marshals Service captured one of America's Most Wanted and elusive fugitives who is accused of stealing millions of dollars that had been donated for the sole purpose of aiding U.S. veterans. “Bobby Thompson”, which was an alias, was on the run for over the last two years where he assumed numerous fictitious names and was known to alter his appearance.
  • April 27, 2012 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) Akron Division hit the streets hard yesterday arresting two violent fugitives.  The Springfield Township Police Department requested the assistance of the NOVFTF to locate and apprehend Larry W. Johnson. Johnson was wanted for rape, gross sexual imposition and importuning out of Springfield Township, OH. The NOVFTF also apprehended Steven Young, a known gang member who was being sought for aggravated burglary and aggravated robbery.
  • April 19, 2012 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force (FCRFTF) arrested fugitive Javonte Hodges at a residence in Fort Walton, Florida. Hodges was wanted by the Cleveland Police Department for a homicide that occurred on March 14, 2012.
  • April 04, 2012 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested William Brown at a residence in Youngstown, Ohio. Brown was wanted by the Norwalk Police Department for felonious assault on a probation officer, wanted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office on a bench warrant for violating the terms of his bond on a current felony eluding case, and wanted by the state of Louisiana for violating his parole.
  • March 19, 2012 - On Saturday, the York Police Department in South Carolina arrested Antwain Price for failing to register as a sex offender. Price was wanted by the Summit County Sheriff’s Office and the U.S. Marshals Service. Price was convicted of criminal sexual conduct with a child under the age of 12 in July of 2010.
  • February 17, 2012 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, the Richland County Sheriff’s Office, and the Mansfield Police Department arrested William Johnson at a Mansfield area motel. Johnson was wanted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office on a February 16, 2012 bench warrant for bond revocation after he violated the no contact order with his victim.
  • February 08, 2012 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force in the Eastern District of Louisiana arrested John C. Wright Jr. at a residence in New Orleans, Louisiana. Wright was wanted by the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office on an August 23, 2011 arrest warrant for failing to verify current address (as a registered sex offender).
  • February 01, 2012 - U.S. Marshals in Akron, OH arrested "Dangerous Dozen" shooting suspect, Tramell Wilson, who was wanted on multiple counts of felonious assault, aggravated burglary, disorderly conduct and three contempt warrants.
  • January 24, 2012 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) Akron Division and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive Task Force (GCRFTF) arrested Lashaun Reed. Reed was wanted by the Wooster, Ohio Police Department on charges of murder.
  • January 06, 2012 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF), along with the Cleveland Police S.W.A.T., arrested fugitive Julius Webster at a residence in Cleveland. Webster was wanted since October 2011 by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for escape. Webster has a violent criminal history and is one of the leaders of the Heartless Felons gang.
  • December 22, 2011 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Task Force in the Northern District of Georgia arrested Billy Farmer in Newnan, Georgia. Farmer was wanted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office for failing to verify current address, a felony of the 4th degree. In April 2008, Farmer was convicted of corruption of a minor and he was classified as a tier II sex offender and required to register every 180 days for a period of 25 years.
  • December 21, 2011 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) Toledo Division arrested Cameron L Stewart, age 29. Stewart was wanted out of Tempe, AZ for conspiracy to sell/transport marijuana and possession of marijuana which occurred in November 2009.
  • December 17, 2011 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) Akron Division stepped up their efforts to assist with the rash of violence that has occurred in Akron over the last week. The NOVFTF called in Task Force Officers from three counties. Task Force Officers worked non-stop hand in hand with the Akron Police Department, Street Narcotics Uniform Detail (SNUD) unit, hitting the streets non-stop since Thursday morning.
  • December 16, 2011 -  The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) Akron Division arrested Bobby L. Kennedy. Kennedy was wanted by the Cuyahoga Falls Police Department on speeding, OVI - under the influence of both alcohol and drugs, driving under suspension, fleeing and eluding police and child endangering that occurred in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio. Kennedy led police on a high-speed chase with two children in the vehicle.
  • December 14, 2011 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) Akron Division and the Southern District of Florida U.S. Marshals arrested Jeremy P. Huth, age 40. Huth was wanted by the New Franklin Police Department on charges of rape of a minor that occurred at the end August of 2011 in New Franklin, Ohio.
  • December 05, 2011 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the launch of a new ability for the public to assist the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force track down wanted fugitives. The Task Force is now able to receive anonymous tips from the public via text message or web tip.
  • November 30, 2011 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force -  Richland County Division - tracked down wanted fugitive Demondray Brooks. Brooks was wanted by the Mansfield Police Department on felony warrants for domestic violence, having weapons under disability, aggravated menacing, drug trafficking, and receiving stolen property.
  • November 09, 2011 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Solomon Williams III in Cleveland Hopkins International Airport after they established information he may be trying to leave the state. Williams was wanted by the Cleveland Police Department for allegedly sexually assaulting a 13 year old female several times starting in 2008 up until 2011.
  • October 21, 2011 - Peter J. Elliott, United States Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, is announcing the arrests of three individuals who are suspected of impersonating federal law enforcement officers. On July 27, 2011 witnesses observed several subjects in downtown Youngstown wearing clothing and badges that identified them as “Special Police Constables” for the United States Government. The U.S. Marshals Service was contacted and an investigation was initiated.
  • August 05, 2011 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) and the Cleveland Police Department arrested Miguel Gonzalez-Perez after receiving information Gonzalez-Perez was in the Cleveland area. Gonzalez-Perez was wanted by the Municipality of Bayamon in San Juan, Puerto Rico for murder.
  • July 27, 2011 - Peter J. Elliott, United States Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, announced today that the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested its 25,000th fugitive. Alphonso Tate, who was wanted on charges of rape, kidnapping, and five counts of gross sexual imposition out of the Cuyahoga County Sheriff's Office, was apprehended by Deputy U.S.
  • July 21, 2011 - Yesterday, the U.S. Marshal led Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Rayshawn McCoy. McCoy, a known member of the violent Bloods street gang, was taken into custody without incident. McCoy was wanted by the Toledo Police Department and the Lucas County Sheriff on 10 warrants, 4 of which were felony warrants to include; involuntary manslaughter, robbery, weapons offense, and cocaine possession and sale.
  • July 08, 2011 - Wanted fugitive William Neal was arrested this morning at approximately 11:30 am in Cleveland, Ohio. Neal was wanted by the Cleveland police Department on charges of two counts of felonious assault shooting and one count of aggravated robbery. Neal was the primary suspect in two different shootings that have recently taken place on Cleveland’s east side.
  • June 09, 2011 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, with assistance from the Mentor Police Department, was able to locate and arrest fugitive Ronnie Haskins during a vehicle stop on State Route 2 in Mentor, Ohio. Haskins was wanted by the Euclid Police Department for a robbery that occurred on April 19, 2011 at a convenience store on Babbitt Road in Euclid in which he was alleged to viciously beat the store clerk during the robbery.
  • June 02, 2011 - Wanted fugitive Reginald “Ricky” Smith was arrested this morning at approximately 10:50 am. Smith was named as the primary suspect in the shooting incident involving two bail bondsmen in the Collinwood area on Cleveland’s east side two weeks ago. Smith was the intended target of the bondsmen due to the fact that he defaulted on his bond in a state drug case he was charged in.
  • May 28, 2011 - Early this morning the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force – Richland County Division tracked down wanted federal fugitive, Ronnie Carter. Carter was wanted by the FBI and METRICH (Metro-Richland County) on a September 29, 2010 federal indictment for conspiracy to possess with the intent to distribute and to distribute 5 kilograms or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine, and 280 grams or more of a mixture or substance containing a detectable amount of cocaine base (crack).
  • May 27, 2011 - Federal prisoner Ruby Seagraves escaped custody from the Bedford Heights City Jail at approximately 11:45 p.m. last night. Seagraves was being held on federal charges of heroin possession since January 2011. The U.S. Marshals Service was immediately notified and responded to the jail to begin the fugitive investigation.
  • April 20, 2011 - Wanted fugitive Thomas Allen, age 38, was arrested last evening at approximately 9:50 p.m. in New Castle, Pennsylvania. Allen, who is no stranger to the justice system, was wanted by the U.S. Marshals, and the Lake County Sheriff’s Office on charges of 2 counts attempted murder, 2 counts aggravated burglary, 2 counts felonious assault and tampering with evidence.
  • March 24, 2011 - Officers of the Cambridge Police Department arrested Justin Blachowski at a residence in Cambridge, Ohio. Blachowski was wanted for aggravated robbery by the Mansfield Police Department.  Just this week, Blachowski was placed on the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force’s most wanted “Dangerous Dozen” and yesterday the Mansfield News Journal ran an article on Blachowski. As a result of the wanted article the Task Force received numerous tips concerning Blachowski’s whereabouts.
  • March 16, 2011 - Wanted fugitive Gregory Johnson was added to the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force’s Fugitive of the Week on Monday after allegedly taking the 7 year old son of his girlfriend without permission from her home on Bell Avenue in Elyria. Johnson snatched the child as he was sleeping while his mother was returning home late that evening. Johnson refused to return the child to his mother and eventually left the child unattended in the Greyhound Bus station in Cleveland in the early morning hours after he found out police were searching for him. The child was safely recovered but Johnson was on the run.
  • March 10, 2011 - Peter J. Elliott, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, is pleased to announce the arrest of fugitive Christopher Williams. The Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force had been looking for Williams since January 2010 when he was indicted by a federal grand jury on a charge of being a felon in possession of a firearm. In May 2010, Williams was featured as one of the Task Forces original “Dangerous Dozen” and had also been named as one of the most wanted fugitives in Warren during last summer’s V-GRIP Operation.
  • March 10, 2011 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force – Richland County Division and Officers from the Mansfield Police Department arrested Shawn Kouns in an apartment on South Home Road in Mansfield. Yesterday morning, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force – Richland County Division and Officers from the Marion Police Department arrested Shawn Stansberry at a residence in Marion, Ohio.
  • March 04, 2011 - Peter J. Elliott, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio, along with Wood County Prosecutor Paul Dobson and Wood County Sheriff Mark Wasylyshyn are pleased to announce the arrest of fugitive Fatjon Kazazi. Kazazi, a native of Albania, was arrested by the Toronto Police Fugitive Squad on February 25, 2011 as he was leaving a residence in Toronto. Kazazi had been wanted by Wood County authorities since 2003 for failing to appear to serve an 8 year sentence for possession of marijuana.
  • March 02, 2011 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force – Richland County Division and Officers from the Mansfield Police Department arrested David Murray at a residence in Mansfield. Murray was wanted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office after he failed to appear for sentencing on an escape case in Richland County Common Pleas Court on May 6, 2002. Murray was also wanted on misdemeanor charges by the Crawford County Sheriff’s Office and Mansfield Police Department since August 2002.
  • February 28, 2011 - Wanted fugitive Roberto Rivera-Amezquita was arrested early this morning on Cleveland’s west side. Rivera-Amezquita had been on the run and eluding law enforcement since December 2007. Rivera-Amezquita was wanted out of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico on charges of murder and weapons law violations.
  • February 17, 2011 - Wanted fugitive Derek Woods was arrested Monday morning, February 14th, on Cleveland’s east side. Instead of a dozen roses for Valentine’s Day, fugitive Derek Woods received a dozen federal agents knocking at his door earlier that morning. Woods, who was at the top of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force’s Dangerous Dozen wanted list, was finally apprehended after alluding police for the past four years.
  • February 17, 2011 - Andre Colvin was wanted by the Akron Police Department in the October 2007 shooting death of Anthony Jackson. The Akron Police Department, through the course of their investigation, identified Colvin as a suspect for the homicide, and charged him with murder. In November of 2007, the Akron Police Department referred the case to the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) for assistance with locating and apprehending Colvin.
  • February 11, 2011 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force – Richland County Division arrested Anthony Primm at a motel in Wooster, Ohio. Primm was wanted by the Ashland County Sheriff’s Office on a bench warrant for violating the terms of his bond after he did not show up for sentencing on January 07, 2011 in Ashland County Common Pleas Court. Primm had previously pled guilty to illegal assembly or possession of chemicals for manufacture of drugs, a felony of the third degree.
  • January 25, 2011 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force - Toledo Division arrested Jon Jefferson, age 34, at a family member’s home in Toledo, Ohio. Jefferson was wanted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office on indictment for trafficking in drugs, by the Ohio State Highway Patrol for flight to avoid prosecution, and the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office for dangerous drugs.
  • January 19, 2011 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) Akron Division arrested their second “Dangerous Dozen” homicide suspect in less than two weeks. Daniel Lanier Travis, age 27, was wanted by the Akron Police Department in the April 2010 shooting death of J’Suan E. Slayton, age 32, of Lawton St. in Akron.
  • January 13, 2011 - The Violence and Gun Reduction and Interdiction Program (V-GRIP) that brought together federal, state and local officers to combat violence over the summer has yielded another arrest. Jimmy Stella of Warren had been stopped by an Ohio State Patrol Trooper during Operation V-GRIP and was found to be in possession of suspected crack cocaine. The suspected drugs were submitted to the lab for testing, and when the lab results confirmed the presence of cocaine a warrant was issued for Stella’s arrest.
  • January 06, 2011 - The New Year was no vacation for the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF). Elohim El-Jones, age 25, was wanted by the Akron Police Department in the August 2009 shooting death of Michael L. Kirksey, age 31, of Spaulding St. in Akron.
  • January 04, 2011 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Cleveland Police Department arrested Jonathan Rodriguez, age 23, after he attempted to flee in a vehicle. Rodriguez was wanted by the Cleveland Police Department for rape and by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for failing to register his change of address and violating his probation. It is alleged that Rodriguez and his father, who is already in custody, brutally raped a female in November of last year.
  • October 21, 2010 - Wanted fugitive Omar Williams was arrested early this morning in Parma Heights, Ohio. Williams was wanted on charges of homicide stemming from the Seminole County Sheriff’s Office in Florida. On April 4, 2008, Williams is alleged to have shot and killed Anthony Flagler at close range in front of numerous eye witnesses and then calmly walked away.
  • September 27, 2010 - Fugitive Safe Surrender was brought back home to Cleveland and in a four-day period 7,431 fugitives surrendered and took advantage of the Fugitive Safe Surrender program held September 22nd through 25th at Mt. Zion Church in Oakwood Village, Ohio setting a new national record for surrenders in the program.
  • September 23, 2010 - Wanted fugitive Lateeshia Scott was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force yesterday at an apartment building in Cleveland, OH. Scott was wanted by the Cleveland Police Department for a bank robbery which occurred on September 4, 2010.
  • September 09, 2010 - Wanted fugitive Joshua Browning was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in Parma, Ohio. During the course of the last two months the Task Force had worked relentlessly in search of Browning. Deputy Marshals and Task Force Officers had conducted numerous interviews of Browning’s family and associates during the past weeks and were able to decipher critical information leading to his arrest. The information was pieced together and led the Task Force to a possible location in the Parma area.
  • August 24, 2010 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) and U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested fugitive Dean Birdsall, age 66, in a suburb of Rochester, New York. Birdsall was wanted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office for failure to register as a sex offender and also by the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for parole violation.
  • August 19, 2010 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the apprehension of fugitive sex offender Jeff Withrow in Rand, West Virginia. Withrow was wanted by the Medina County Sheriff’s Office for failure to register as a sex offender and the Ohio Adult Parole Authority for escape. The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force was requested to assist in locating and apprehending fugitive Withrow on the outstanding warrants.
  • August 13, 2010 - Wanted fugitives John Wilson, age 28, and Robert “Bobby” Cruz, age 43, were both added to the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force’s Most Wanted “Dangerous Dozen” list which was released on Wednesday to the public. Within 48 hours of the release, both are in custody due to tips received from the public.
  • August 05, 2010 - Yesterday turned out to be the day that luck ran out for long time fugitive Leslie “Lucky” Johnson, wanted on a federal arrest warrant for failure to surrender to the Bureau of Prisons stemming from his 1991 federal drug case conviction. Johnson, age 52, was apprehended near Pittsburgh, PA by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force with the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Western Pennsylvania Fugitive Task Force after 19 long years on the run.
  • July 14, 2010 - Wanted fugitives Samuel Jones and Herbert McCloud were arrested last night in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida by the U.S. Marshals Florida/Caribbean Regional Fugitive Task Force based on a request from the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. Jones, and his cohort and half brother McCloud, were wanted as the primary suspects in the shooting of T.J. Simms, which was the result of an argument between the two parties, which left Simms in critical condition and currently paralyzed.
  • June 01, 2010 - The holiday weekend was no vacation for the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF). With last Thursday’s release of the NOVFTF’s new “Dangerous Dozen”, the tips came pouring in and the NOVFTF captured two of the “Dangerous Dozen” within 48 hours of the announcement.
  • May 27, 2010 - U.S. Marshal Peter J. Elliott announces the creation of the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force’s Most Wanted list, nicknamed the “Dangerous Dozen”. This new list contains the 12 Most Wanted fugitives sought by the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force at any given time.
  • May 26, 2010 - Members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Mychael J. Martin, age 19, at a residence in Mansfield, after a lengthy investigation. Martin was wanted by the Mansfield Police Department for pandering obscenity involving a minor, a second degree felony, as well as failing to appear in the Richland County Common Pleas Court for a drug trafficking trial.
  • April 26, 2010 - Wanted fugitive Dale Zucker, age 61, was arrested this afternoon in Union City, California. Zucker was wanted on a federal arrest warrant for failing to appear for his January 26th trial to face federal fraud charges. Zucker was released on bond by the federal courts following his arraignment on these charges and was living with family members in the south Florida area.
  • April 22, 2010 - Earlier today, members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Mansfield Division of Police arrested Desiree Marshall, age 22, at a family member’s residence in Mansfield. Marshall is charged with felonious assault by the Mansfield Police Department. Marshall allegedly had a verbal altercation in which she fired multiple shots striking a victim in the chest.
  • March 25, 2010 -  It’s no secret that if you are a wanted fugitive trying to evade capture, the last thing you want to see is your face on a wanted poster.  The U.S. Marshals Service has made its name on the belief that no guilty man shall go free, and in the Northern District of Ohio that is exactly the goal of the Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force.  U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott currently partners with WKYC Channel 3 News, The Cleveland Plain Dealer, and Clear Channel Media to seek wanted criminals in its Fugitive of the Week program. To date, almost 88% of those profiled have been caught. His new idea is to bring mug shots of the most wanted criminals in your area directly to your cell phone.  
  • March 12, 2010 - On Thursday March 11, 2010, the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested Chanchez Stewart (age 23) for homicide and assault with intent to murder. Stewart was wanted by the Detroit Police Department in Michigan. In August 2009, Stewart allegedly shot two persons in the face, killing Michael Saphr. Shortly after the homicide it is believed that Stewart fled Michigan for Ohio.
  • February 24, 2010 - Wanted fugitive Marlon Clemons, age 31, was arrested last evening at in Southfield, Michigan. Clemons, who was at the top of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force’s wanted list, was finally apprehended after alluding police for the past few weeks. Clemons is believed to be the primary suspect involved in an incident which started as a fight and escalated into a shooting in Cleveland.
  • February 12, 2010 - The Tulane University Police Department apprehended multi-state fugitive, Sarah Kelly, age 22, in New Orleans, La., based on a lead from the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force – Akron Division. Kelly fled Ohio earlier this month and several leads led investigators to focus on New Orleans, where she was arrested.
  • January 29, 2010 - The U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force apprehended violent fugitive Johnny Jackson III, age 20, in Stockbridge, GA based on a lead from the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force – Lorain County Division. Jackson fled Ohio earlier this month and several leads led investigators to focus on Stockbridge, GA where he was arrested.
  • January 05, 2010 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) arrested wanted fugitive Demetrius Briggs. Briggs, age 20, was wanted by the Richland County Sheriff’s Office and the Mansfield Police Department on numerous arrest warrants including attempted murder, aggravated robbery, felonious assault, aggravated burglary and domestic violence.
  • December 10, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force (NOVFTF) and the Sandusky Police Department arrested Jackie McElroy for homicide. McElroy was wanted on the homicide by the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Department in Alabama.
  • October 28, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended wanted fugitive Jonathan Ward. Ward was wanted by the Cleveland Division of Police on charges of armed robbery. Ward also had outstanding charges with the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for carrying a concealed weapon.
  • October 07, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force has tracked down wanted murder suspect Adrian Horn in Georgia. Horn was wanted by the Mansfield Division of Police for the murder of Kevin Moses on July 7, 2009. The Mansfield Police Department and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force have been working on the case since the date of the alleged murder.
  • October 07, 2009 - Leonardo “Joker” Rodriguez, 36 years of age, was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals Service Puerto Rico Fugitive Task Force in Vega Alta, Puerto Rico.  Within the last month, leads were developed that identified that Rodriguez was in Puerto Rico and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force requested assistance from the Puerto Rico Fugitive Task Force.  Rodriguez was wanted for Aggravated Robbery, Dangerous Drugs, and for Escape.
  • September 29, 2009 - Peter J. Elliott, U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of Ohio announces that the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force, Lorain County Division apprehended violent fugitive Andres Arzola in Ponce, Puerto Rico. Arzola was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office for 12 counts of Armed Robbery and 12 counts of Kidnapping and he was also wanted by the Lorain Police Department for Felonious Assault, Aggravated Burglary and Kidnapping.
  • September 15, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force has tracked down another fugitive wanted for sex offenses. Fugitive Bobby Smith was wanted by the Mansfield Police Department and the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force for sexual battery of a minor.
  • July 21, 2009 - Former Fugitive of the Week Carlos Williams was apprehended on Cleveland’s east side. Williams was profiled as the Fugitive of the Week this past April after he was named as a suspect in the armed robbery of the Rascal House Pizza shop in Euclid, Ohio. At the request of the Euclid Police Department, the Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force began an intense search for Williams.
  • July 16, 2009 - Fugitive DeCharles Stephens thought that he could outrun the long arm of the law by hiding in Arizona. Today, he found out the hard way that the reach of the U.S. Marshals Service has no boundaries. Stephens was apprehended by U.S. Marshals in Glendale, Arizona. On June 11, Stephens escaped from a City of Cleveland prisoner van as he was being transported between the city jail and the Cleveland House of Corrections. Stephens was in custody on charges of attempted murder with a firearm.
  • June 24, 2009 - U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott announces the capture of fugitive sex offender Robbi Potter, 27, along with the capture of associate Candace Watson, 24, and the safe recovery of 4 year old missing child Haylee Donathan. Yesterday, a tip was received by the San Diego County Sheriff’s Office, who then quickly responded to a Christian retreat center in Valley Center, Calif., where they were able to apprehend Potter and Watson and safely recover little Haylee without incident.
  • June 19, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is continuing the search for fugitive sex offender Robbi Potter, 27. Potter is a convicted sex offender who authorities believe is on the run with his girlfriend, Candace Watson, 24, and her 4-year-old daughter, Haylee Elizabeth Jade Donathan. The U.S. Marshals Task Force is now accepting tips on this case via text message. All tips are 100% anonymous and confidential. To send tips, text “POTTER” and the message to 847411 or TIP411.
  • June 18, 2009 - Wanted fugitive Deondray Crayton was apprehended by members of the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force. Crayton was wanted for failing to appear for his arraignment on a federal weapons charge. Crayton was featured on Channel 3 News, and in Cleveland’s Plain Dealer as the Fugitive of the Week during the week of May 18, 2009.
  • June 15, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is now confirming the suspected truck in the case of fugitive sex offender Robbi Potter, 27, was captured on a surveillance camera at an Ampride gas station in Stratton, Colorado on June 2. This is the last confirmed sighting of the truck since it was previously seen at a Wal-Mart in Marion, Ohio on May 31. Potter is a convicted sex offender who authorities believe is on the run with his girlfriend, Candace Watson, 24, and her 3-year-old daughter, Haylee Elizabeth Jade Donathan.
  • June 11, 2009 - The U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force is on the hunt for fugitive Robbi Douglas Potter, 27. Potter is a convicted sex offender who authorities believe is on the run with his girlfriend and her 3-year-old daughter. Potter is wanted on a state warrant for parole violation and on a federal warrant for probation violation.
  • June 09, 2009 - Cuyahoga County Sheriff Bob Reid, Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath and U.S. Marshal Pete Elliott announce the arrest of violent fugitive Khalid K. Swanson. Swanson, age 34, was wanted by the Cuyahoga County Sheriff’s Office on a warrant dated April 30, 2009, charging him with robbery, kidnapping, having weapons under disability, trafficking drugs, drug possession and possession of criminal tools.
  • May 21, 2009 - Cuyahoga County Sheriff Robert Reid, Cleveland Police Chief Michael McGrath and U.S. Marshal Peter Elliott announce the arrest of violent fugitive Osvaldo Ortiz. Ortiz was apprehended as he de-boarded a plane at JFK International Airport in New York. Deputy U.S. Marshals assigned to the New York / New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, made famous in the current A&E television series Manhunters, acted swiftly on information provided to them this morning by the U.S. Marshals Northern Ohio Violent Fugitive Task Force in an effort to arrest Ortiz.
