The
U.S. Marshals Service, District of Montana, contracts with
various local holding facilities to meet it's housing needs of
federal prisoners while they are going through their court
proceedings. These facilities are required to meet certain
federal standards, and placement of federal prisoners is based
solely upon the needs of the Marshal's Service.
After sentencing, these prisoners
are designated by the Federal Bureau of Prisons, and are sent to
a long term facility. Where prisoners are sent are
determined by the BOP, and prisoner information can be obtained
at the BOP website;
