Intelligence; Deputy U.S. Marshals in the District of Massachusetts
Protective Intelligence Unit (PIU) works to identify and mitigate
inappropriate communications and threats that are directed at U.S.
Marshals Service protected persons and facilities. The unit also manages
the Regional Threat Management Group, a conglomerate of federal, state
and local agencies that share information pertaining to protective
intelligence matters. PIU operates 24 hours a day to provide for the
safety and security of the United States Judiciary. PIU also
investigates and seeks indictments pertaining to violations of Federal
Law in relation to threats. |
