  • November 13, 2009 - Twenty-Nine Year Old Ferdinand Nickles was arrested at an Apartment Complex in Decatur, GA (DeKalb County) by the U.S. Marshals Southeast Regional Task Force (SERTF) in Atlanta. Nickles was being sought for 1st Degree Murder Charges that stemmed from the murder of Ernest Guidry in Vermilion Parish.
  • September 24, 2009 - Forty-Nine Year Old Norman Roberts was arrested by US Marshals with the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force in Houston at 4:00 p.m. today. Roberts was Wanted by Louisiana’s Office of Probation and Parole for violating his conditions of parole. Roberts’ Warrant was dated November 8, 2004. Norman Roberts caused a vehicle accident on Hwy. 90 on April 24, 2003 that resulted in two deaths.
  • September 18, 2009 - Forty-six year old Brent Aucoin was arrested in the West Bank area of New Orleans. Aucoin was Wanted by the Lafayette Parish Sheriffs Office for Aggravated Rape, Incest, Aggravated Incest, Molestation of a Juvenile, and Indecent Behavior with a Juvenile.
  • August 07, 2009 - One of Acadiana’s Most Wanted, Brian Keith Thomas was arrested in Houma by the Terrebonne Parish Sheriffs Office and the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Regional Task Force (GCRT). Thomas was wanted for Escaping from the Avoyelles Parish Jail on Saturday, August 1, 2009. Further, Thomas was awaiting trial in Evangeline Parish for 2nd Degree Murder and two counts of Attempted 2nd Degree Murder.
  • August 06, 2009 - Twenty-Six year old Anthony Thomas was arrested today by Sebastian County, Arkansas (Ft. Smith). Thomas was wanted by U.S. Marshals in Lafayette for violating his bond. Thomas was originally arrested by Immigration and Customs Enforcement for Possession of Child Pornography.
  • July 29, 2009 - Thirty-two year old Arthur Johnson was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in Lafayette with assistance from the Opelousas Police Department. Johnson, along with Lester Jones, escaped from the Orleans Parish Prison sometime during the evening of July 21, 2009.
  • July 23, 2009 - Brady Cormier was arrested today by U.S. Marshals, Avoyelles Parish Sheriffs Deputies, Louisiana State Police, and others in Marksville, LA. Cormier was wanted by Acadia Parish, St. Landry Parish, Scott PD, and Louisiana Parole and Probation for Burglary related charges and a Parole Violation. Further, Cormier may be facing Burglary related charges in Gueydan.
  • July 16, 2009 - Twenty-three year old Arturo Vasquez was arrested this morning by U.S. Marshals in the Harris County Courthouse in Houston, TX. Vasquez was wanted for allegedly stealing (by way of credit card fraud) eight-thousand dollars worth of merchandise from Home Depot in Lafayette; four-thousand dollars from Home Depot in Broussard; and four-thousand dollars from Home Depot in Alexandria. Vasquez is also under investigation for similar crimes in other cities in Louisiana to include Lake Charles and Monroe.
  • July 15, 2009 - The Western District of Louisiana’s Fugitive Task Force in Lafayette arrested thirty-seven year old Jack Copeland in Lafayette. Copeland was Wanted in Shelby County Alabama for 2nd Degree Sodomy and 2nd Degree Rape. Further, Coleman has outstanding warrants in Bay County, Florida for Possession of Controlled Substance (Felony) and two counts of Domestic Battery (Felony).
  • July 01, 2009 - On June 30th members of the U.S. Marshals Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force in Houston arrested sixty year old James Francis at the Best Classic Suites in North Houston. Francis was Wanted by the Lafayette Police Department for 2nd Degree Murder.
  • June 29, 2009 - Deputy U.S. Marshals in Houston arrested Cornelius Kelly at a Department Store located inside a shopping mall.  Kelly was Wanted for multiple drug related charges in St. Mary Parish, Louisiana as well as Beaumont, Texas.  Further, Kelly had recently appeared for trial in one of his drug cases in St. Mary Parish and requested a continuance.  When the judge denied the continuance, Kelly never returned.
  • June 26, 2009 - On June 25th U.S. Marshals arrested twenty-five-year-old Jose Santos in Miami nearly one week after Santos allegedly kidnapped his fifteen-year-old girlfriend. St. Mary filed charges against Santos on Tuesday, June 23rd for Aggravated Kidnapping.
  • June 17, 2009 - Twenty-One year old Jacolby Westley from Jeanerette was arrested yesterday evening by the U.S. Marshals in Sacramento, CA. Westley was Wanted by St. Mary Parish for a numerous charges including: Aggravated Assault, Aggravated Criminal Damage to Property, Battery, and Illegal Discharging of a Firearm. Further, Iberia Parish has an active Warrant against Westley for Armed Robbery with a Firearm.
  • April 8, 2009  - On Wednesday, April 8, 2009, at approximately 9:30am, Deputy U.S. Marshals and Strike Team Officers of the United States Marshals Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team, and the United States Marshals Western Louisiana Fugitive Task Force, Shreveport, Louisiana, arrested Tummy Crenshaw and Gary Hogg in Shreveport, Louisiana. Crenshaw and Hogg were wanted by the Dallas Police Department on charges of capital murder stemming from a robbery and murder of the victim on March 23, 2009.
  • February 27, 2009 - Randy Lewis was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force with assistance from the Lafayette Parish Sheriffs Office and the Lafayette Police Department. Randy Lewis is Wanted by the New Orleans Police Department for Attempted Murder, Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office for two counts of Attempted Murder and is a suspect in another murder investigation with Jefferson Parish authorities.
  • February 16, 2009 - Jacob Poole was arrested by the U.S. Marshals led Western District of Louisiana Fugitive Task Force with vital assistance from the Lafayette Police Department. Poole is Wanted by the Tulsa, Oklahoma Police Department for Bank Robbery. U.S. Marshals Task Force Officers along with the Lafayette Police Department identified Poole in Lafayette, LA and arrested him without incident.
  • February 12, 2009 - Thomas Pearce was arrested by U.S. Marshals and the Lake Charles Police Department’s SRT Team near Plum Street in DeRidder, Louisiana. Pearce has pending charges from Van Zandt County for Sexual Assault and Burglary.
  • February 12, 2009 - John Scott Gardner was arrested by U.S. Marshals and Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Deputies off Leger Road outside the city limits of Crowley, LA. Gardner was Wanted by the Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina for Sexual Assault of a Child.
  • January 02, 2009 - On Friday evening, the U.S. Marshals received a call indicating that Cecil Stratton wished to surrender peacefully to authorities.  The U.S. Marshals began negotiating with the caller and eventually spoke to Stratton himself.  A meeting was arranged and at 9:00 p.m. Stratton was taken into custody.  Stratton was taken straight to the Lafayette Parish Jail where he will await extradition. 
  • July 11, 2008 - U.S. Marshals Service announces the arrest of Wilfred Vangure, 2nd Degree Murder Suspect, in Houston, TX. Wilfred Vangure allegedly shot and killed 19 year old Paxton Simon in Lafayette, LA. The Lafayette Police Department quickly identified the shooter and began the search for 22 year old Wilfred Vangure.   The Lafayette Police Department requested the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force in locating and arresting Vangure.
  • June 25, 2008 - Following a four-year tradition of success in its national efforts, the U.S. Marshals locally conducted another successful Operation FALCON (Federal and Local Cops Organized Nationally) from June 15 – June 21. Led by U.S. Marshals, Operation FALCON is a nationwide law enforcement effort. Operation FALCON 2008 – Lafayette combined the collective efforts of multiple law enforcement agencies in the Acadiana region’s largest ever fugitive initiative, focusing on capturing individuals wanted on felony charges including gang members, sex offenders and fugitives wanted for crimes of violence.
  • April 29, 2008 - Ernest Patrick, a twenty-five year old Houston man was arrested last night in Lafayette, LA. Patrick was Wanted by Harris County (Houston) for Aggravated Sexual Assault of a Child under fourteen years of age. Patrick was staying with friends in an effort to avoid detection. Members of the Western District of Louisiana’s Task Force received information late yesterday afternoon about Patrick being in the Lafayette area.
