“Dead Beat Mom” from Ohio Arrested by U.S. Marshals

Prairieville - An Ohio woman thought a trailer in Prairieville was far enough to run from a four count felony indictment and $50,000, until U.S. Marshals knocked on her door. Mila R. Bennett, known in Ohio as Mila Dove, was arrested this morning by the Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force for non-payment of court ordered child support. Bennett is alleged to have failed to pay support since 2001 and now owes over $50,000 in back payment. The Task Force acted on a request from the Ross County (Ohio) Sheriff’s Office to locate Bennett after they developed information that she had relocated to Louisiana. Investigators believe that Bennett has been living in Ascension Parish since 2005. Bennett was booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail awaiting extradition back to Ohio.

“This fugitive made the same mistake that many other fugitives do, they think time and miles will help them avoid justice..............that’s when we come knockin’,” said U.S. Marshal Carey Jenkins.

The Middle Louisiana Fugitive Task Force, coordinated by the U.S. Marshals Service, is a multi-agency task force that targets persons wanted for violent crimes, narcotic offenses, and sexual offenders in the Capitol area and surrounding Parishes. Contributing agencies are the Baton Rouge Police Department, the East and West Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Offices, the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office, and the Louisiana State Probation and Parole.
