ST. CHARLES PARISH SHERIFF’S OFFICE ARREST AGGRAVATED SEXUAL BATTERY SUSPECT WITH ASSISTANCE FROM U.S. MARSHALS CRESCENT STAR FUGITIVE TASK FORCE

An anonymous tip on November 27, 2006, based on a US Marshals Service reward offer, led the St. Charles Parish Sheriffs Office to arrest Dwan L. Storks. Storks, 26 years old, of Killona, Louisiana, was arrested on a warrant issued in St. Charles Parish on November 16, 2006, for aggravated kidnapping, armed robbery, sexual battery, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.

On November 12, 2006, Storks allegedly forced a 33 year-old Luling, Louisiana woman into his vehicle. Once in the vehicle, Storks struck the victim on the head with a gun and assaulted her. After driving around the Luling area, Storks brought the victim back to her residence where he then took her computer and cash.

Storks was arrested by the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office with the assistance of the EDLA U.S. Marshal’s Service Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF).

Storks is being held at the Nelson Coleman Correctional Center on a $700,000 bond.

The St. Charles Parish Sheriff, Greg Champagne, was very pleased with the results of this fugitive investigation and his agency’s participation in the CSFTF. St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office has been a member agency of the CSFTF for over four years. Other participating members of the task force are, the New Orleans Police Department, Orleans Parish Criminal Sheriff’s Office, Bogalusa Police Department, Louisiana Probation and Parole, and the U.S. Coast Guard Investigative Services. The CSFTF started in 1999 and had chalked up over 3500 fugitive arrest since it’s inception. With the .U.S. Attorney General’s recent commitment of additional U.S. Marshals Service resources to the New Orleans metro area post Hurricane Katrina, CSFTF has seen a significant increase in it’s fugitive arrests numbers.
