Macon - District Headquarters

Macon, GA Courthouse
 
The Macon courthouse is located at the corner of Mulberry and Third Streets and is the headquarters for the Middle District. Office hours are from 8:30am until 5:00pm Monday - Friday. For after hours filing, a drop box is located by the Third Street entrance.

Albany

The Albany courthouse is located at the corner of West Broad Avenue and Washington Street in the original downtown sector of Albany. The building is a new facility completed in June, 2002, and incorporates the most current technology and security. The building houses the District Court, Magistrate Court, Bankruptcy Court, and offices for the U.S. Clerk of Court, U.S. Marshal's Service, U.S. Probation, and U.S. Attorney.

Office hours are 8:30-5:00pm, Mon-Fri.  For after-hours filing, a drop box is located on the front veranda of the building. 
 

Athens

The Athens courthouse is located at the corner of Hancock Avenue and Lumpkin Street. Office hours are from 8:30am until 5:00pm Monday - Friday.  A drop box is located in the lobby of the Post Office for after hours filing.

Columbus

The Columbus Division courthouse is a 1930's era, 3-story building located at the corner of 12th Street and Second Avenue.  Federal agencies in the building include U.S. District Court, U.S. Marshal, U.S. Probation, Social Security Administration, and U.S. Post Office.   The building is open from 8:30am until 5:00pm Monday - Friday. For after hours filing, a drop box is located outside at the rear of the building adjacent to the handicap ramp.


Thomasville

Built in 1962, the Thomasville Division courthouse is located at the corner of N. Broad Street and E. Monroe Street in the original downtown area of Thomasville. The building houses a U.S. District Courtroom, U.S. Post Office and offices for U.S. Department of Agriculture and Federal Bureau of Investigation. There are no permanent court staff located in the building at this time, so questions and filings should be directed to the Clerk's office in Albany. Court is scheduled in Thomasville as needed to accommodate the citizens of the area.

Valdosta

The Valdosta Division courthouse is a 1960's era 2-story building located between Ashley and Patterson Streets just east of Rogers Street. The building houses a U.S. District Courtroom and offices for the U.S. Clerk of Court, U.S. Probation, Internal Revenue Service, U.S. Congressman Sanford Bishop, and recruitment offices for different branches of the military.  For after hours filing, a drop box is located outside next to the main entrance.
