  • April 25, 2008 - Three fugitives were arrested by the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force. Ricardo Cortez Cook of Tallahassee, FL was wanted for the offense of Attempted Homicide-Willful Kill Premeditated, Aggravated Battery Causing Bodily Harm, and Violation of Probation stemming from an original offense of Marijuana Possession with Intent to Sell. Gary Burgess, a Florida registered sex offender, was wanted for Failure to Comply with Sex Offender Registration and Failure to Notify Change of Residence within 48 hours. Anthony Antonio Blake, of Tallahassee, FL, was wanted on warrants for Aggravated Assault with a Firearm and Discharging a Firearm in Public.
  • March 03, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force announces the arrest of a man wanted in Sullivan County New Hampshire regarding charges involving sexual battery on a child. Brian Wesley Morey was being sought on 2 counts of Aggravated Felonious Sexual Assault by local authorities in the town of Newport in New Hampshire.
  • February 20, 2008 - OKALOOSA, FL -The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested four fugitives while conducting a mini round-up last night and seized narcotics consisting of crack cocaine, powder cocaine, marijuana; as well as over thousand dollars in cash.
  • January 20, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force announces the arrest of a man wanted in Escambia County regarding charges involving sexual battery and child abuse. Jowhar Jasiri Franklin was being sought for Sexual Battery by a Custodian on a Child Under 12 Years Old, Child Abuse Causing Great Bodily Harm and Failure to Appear for Child Abuse charges.
  • January 11, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force captured a North Carolina man suspected of robbing another man and then pistol whipping him 2 months ago in Wilmington, North Carolina. A warrant from Wilmington charges Marcus Antone Williams aka “Smoke” with Armed Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, Assault with Serious Bodily Injury and Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon.  Williams has two prior convictions for robbery with a firearm and is currently on state parole in North Carolina.
  • January 09, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended two suspects wanted in connection with an armed robbery of a credit union in Macon, GA, where the suspects cleaned out the bank of all its money. Merkuri Carl Stanback and Carmilla Davis are wanted by the Macon Police Department for Armed Robbery, Kidnapping, and Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a felony.
  • January 07, 2008 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Jimmy Cash of Flomaton, Alabama. Cash, 48, was arrested by the Marshals Task Force and Flomaton Police Department at his home without incident. Cash is wanted on an Escambia County Florida warrant charging him with Battery or Domestic Battery by Strangulation, Battery on a Person 65 Years or Older, a felony charge of Cruelty Toward Child/Abuse Without Great Harm and two misdemeanor charges of Criminal Mischief with Property Damage.
  • December 19, 2007 - Kenny Greene of Tallahassee, FL ran from U.S. Marshals just as they were arriving to arrest him. Greene was being housed at the Keaton Correctional Federal Half-Way house which was where the foot chase began. Greene evidently recognized the Deputy U.S. Marshals as they arrived on scene and went running from the half-way house North through some industrial areas off Springhill road to get away from them. The Leon County Sheriff’s Office quickly had their helicopter overhead and additional units from both the Leon County Sheriff’s Office and the Tallahassee Police Department assisted in the chase.
  • December 10, 2007 - In an early morning operation, members of the U.S. Marshal’s Violent Fugitive Task Force captured Marlon Olivera after forcing entry in an apartment.  Olivera was currently being sought by the Tallahassee Police Department for four counts of Sexual Battery, Kidnapping, Aggravated Stalking, and Battery. Olivera had been the target of a fugitive investigation by the U.S. Marshal’s North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force after the case was referred to the task force by the Tallahassee Police Department on December 6, 2007.
  • November 15, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Gregory Lynn Boyd; a fugitive wanted by authorities in Indiana for Child Molestation and Theft. The molestation warrant stems from allegations that Boyd, 43, impregnated a 12 year old girl in St. Joseph County, IN.
  • November 14, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals of Pensacola North Florida announce the arrest of Michael Stephen Johnson wanted in connection with a bank robbery yesterday afternoon in Pensacola.
  • October 16, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force and investigators from the Pensacola Police Department apprehended James William Hayes at an apartment complex in Crestview this morning. Hayes is a suspect in the October 6th armed robbery of the Advance America Cash Advance business on Creighton Road in Pensacola.
  • October 16, 2007 -  The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Richard Allen Lyon at a residence on East River Drive in Navarre early this morning. In 1995, Lyon was convicted on two counts of Child Rape after sodomizing two young boys and sentenced to 15 years in state prison in Missouri.
  • September 24, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Joseph Lee Riddle; an Okaloosa County man wanted in connection with a sex offense that charges he had sexually assaulted an eleven year old child. Riddle is wanted on warrants from Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office for Sexual Battery on a Child under 12 and Lewd and Lascivious Molestation of a Child 12 Years or Younger.
  • September 21, 2007 - A convicted bank robber, who spent much of July in Panama City, following his reported heist of $57, 000 from a Raleigh, N.C., bank, has been added to the U.S. Marshals Service list of 15 Most Wanted Fugitives.  Anthony “Tony” Ray Artrip, 35, of Ashland, Ky., is wanted by U.S. Marshals in the Eastern District of Kentucky after escaping from the Grant County, Kentucky Detention Center, on June 24, 2007.
  • September 11, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force announces the arrest of Aaron Johnson, Eugene Ludlow and Lugene Ludlow.  Aaron Johnson of Tallahassee, FL was wanted by the Robbery Task Force on a warrant for Bank Robbery stemming from the robbery of the Suntrust Bank in Tallahassee on September 5th.  Eugene Ludlow and Lugene Ludlow, 18 year old twin brothers from Gretna, FL, were both wanted on charges of armed robbery with a firearm and aggravated assault by the Gretna Police Department.
  • August 27, 2007 - United States Marshal Dennis Williamson will be joined by other federal, state and local law enforcement agencies in holding a press conference on Tuesday, August 28th, at 2:00 p.m. This conference will take place at the U.S. Courthouse, 1 N. Palafox Street, Second Floor, Jury Assembly Room, and will involve a criminal matter.
  • August 02, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force, and members from Santa Rosa, Okaloosa and Escambia County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Damian Lee McGowan after a week of being on the run. The 25 year old McGowan was being sought by the Sheriff’s Office in Santa Rosa for Battery on a Law Enforcement Officer, Escape and Theft; after he struck a Santa Rosa Deputy who was attempting to place him under arrest after traffic stop.
  • July 26, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force and Escambia County Sheriff’s Office; working in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Crescent Star Fugitive Task Force (CSFTF), apprehended murder suspect Walter Mendez in New Orleans this afternoon.
  • July 25, 2007 - Adan Eliud Correa Sanchez, 24, of Tallahassee, FL was wanted by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office on two warrants for Sexual Assault and two warrants for Sexual Battery stemming from incidents in 2004. Investigation by the Leon County Sheriff’s Office led them to believe that Sanchez had fled to Mexico and asked for the assistance of the U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force who adopted the case in May 2005.
  • July 13, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force and Santa Rosa County Sheriff’s Office; working in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals Orlando Regional Task Force (ORTF) apprehended a convicted sex offender in Orlando wanted for rape in Santa Rosa County. Michael Wayne Cooper, 46, was arrested at his home in Orlando without incident.
  • June 29, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended a sex offender this afternoon wanted by police in Connecticut for sexually assaulting two young girls. The Task Force arrested Charles Hayes while he was fishing at Carpenter’s Park in Milton, FL.
  • June 25, 2007 - Richard Scott Hutcheson, 27, of Panama City, Florida was wanted by the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office on warrants for Escape and Resisting Arrest without Violence which stemmed from his alleged May 24th escape from the Liberty County Jail. The U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force adopted the case on at the request of the Liberty County Sheriff’s Office.
  • June 05, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals Violent Fugitive Task Force in Tallahassee arrested today Clayton Gee, age 25, who was wanted by law enforcement authorities on both federal and local warrants. Gee was charged in warrants for Aggravated Battery and Fleeing and Eluding by the Tallahassee Police Department, in addition to being wanted by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) on a federal warrant for a Firearm offense.
  • May 16, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals in the Northern District of Florida arrested John Guadalupe Gonzales during a felony car stop in Panama City, FL. Deputy Marshals along with task force members from the U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Florida Department of Law Enforcement (FDLE) apprehended Gonzales after conducting a brief surveillance in a local park.  Gonzales will be the first sexual predator to be prosecuted federally under the Adam Walsh Act in the Northern District of Florida.
  • May 10, 2007 -  The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended wanted felon Christina Murphy Robbins. Robbins was wanted in Michigan for violating her state probation which was part of her sentence from a 2004 conviction on charges of Involuntary Manslaughter, Child Abuse and Perjury.
  • April 30, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force (NFVFTF) announces the arrest of Gary Frederick Gray; an Escambia County wanted sex offender who jumped bail and who has been on the run for almost four months.
  • April 24, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended two felons within less than an hour of each other this evening in Santa Rosa County. Kenneth Russell Pike, who is wanted on multiple charges including Aggravated Assault with a Vehicle, Burglary with Battery, Criminal Mischief, and Petit Theft, was arrested in Pace. Eric Dale Robinson was apprehended about an hour earlier during a felony car stop. Robinson was wanted on a warrant stemming from a federal indictment.
  • April 19, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended two felons in the last 24 hours. Paul Donald Duff, wanted for violating his federal probation in Detroit, was captured yesterday by the Marshals and task force deputies from Okaloosa and Escambia Counties.  While trying to locate Duff, members of the task force discovered that the room he was renting was rented in the name of another person, Eric Todd Young, who was wanted for multiple felony counts of passing bad checks.
  • April 19, 2007 - Members of the U.S. Marshal’s North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended Charles Levon Brown.  Brown was apprehended by the U.S. Marshals task force, with assistance from uniformed police officers from the Tallahassee Police Department. Brown was currently being sought for three counts of Armed Robbery with a Firearm and he had a total of 17 outstanding warrants for his arrest.
  • April 10, 2007 - The Northern District of Florida's U.S. Marshals Office in Panama City announces the arrest of Joe Francis, producer of the "Girls Gone Wild" videos. Francis was arrested on a federal warrant for Criminal Contempt of Court. Francis, 34, was arrested after stepping off of a privately chartered jet and was detained by the Panama City Bay County International Airport Police.
  • March 27, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Pensacola Police Department are asking for the public's help locating a husband and wife wanted for numerous felonies, to include the husband who is also wanted for several armed robberies. Steven Walton is wanted in connection with 5 felony warrants for Criminal Use of Personal Information. Walton's wife, Tandra Wright is wanted on 4 felony charges for the same crime.
  • March 10, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force and members from Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Alan Frazier Cox. Cox, 41, is wanted by the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office on two warrants, Possession of a Firearm by a convicted Felon and for Possession of a Firearm by a Minor (Parental Responsibility).
  • March 04, 2007 - The United States Marshals Northern Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force is asking the public's assistance in locating federal inmate, Michael Joseph Derenak who escaped from the Federal Prison Camp (FPC) in Pensacola, Florida.
  • March 04, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force, and members from Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Mansel William Swaney, aka “Bill Swaney” 12 a.m. this morning. Swaney, 41, is wanted in Kansas City, Missouri for violating his parole after serving time for a conviction of armed robbery.  At the time of his arrest, Swaney still had the handcuffs on his wrists, but apparently had someone else cut the links off earlier.
  • March 04, 2007 -  The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force and the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office are requesting the public’s assistance in locating escaped felon Mansel Swaney aka “Billy Swaney.” Swaney has local ties to the Okaloosa area. Swaney, 41, is wanted in Kansas City, Missouri on a parole violation warrant after serving time for a conviction of armed robbery.
  • February 07, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended two felons wanted by Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office and directed the arrest of another man wanted in Escambia County who was located in Arkansas.
  • January 31, 2007 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force, along with the Florida Highway Patrol, and Escambia County Sheriff’s Office apprehended Efstathios Mihalakis, aka “Steve Mihalakis” at 3:30 p.m. today. Mihalakis, 26, is the alleged leader of sixteen others in a major cocaine conspiracy.
  • December 06, 2006 - The U.S. Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force apprehended wanted felon Kenneth Duaine Swanger. Swanger, who escaped local authorities last week, was spotted by members from the Marshals’ Task Force in Pensacola. Swanger is wanted in Iowa on charges of First Degree Kidnapping and First Degree Sexual Assault by Sodomy with a Weapon.
  • November 02, 2006 - Deputy United States Marshals teamed up with thousands of fellow federal, state, and local law enforcement agencies to conduct the largest ever round up of fugitive sex-offenders, wanted gang members, and violent felony offenders. Dubbed “Operation FALCON III” (Federal And Local Cops Organized Nationally), Deputy Marshals and their fellow task force members arrested 10,773 felony fugitives.
  • September 25, 2006 - The United States Marshals North Florida Violent Fugitive Task Force arrested Solafa Fatu Jr., aka “Rakishi”, at 12 noon today after a vehicle stop on Highway 98 near the Naval Hospital. The 41 year old, 6 foot 2 inch, 400 pound wrestler was taken into custody without any resistance.
