Special Response Team (S.R.T.)

Purpose:  Pursuant to the development of the Critical Incident Response Group (CIRG) in 1994 within the Justice Department and the increasingly violent criminal behavior, there is a growing demand upon the U.S. Marshals Service to deploy specialized resources to prevent and resolve crisis situations at the district level.   To ensure that these crisis situations are managed and executed safely and effectively the Special Response Team (SRT) was developed.  The SRT is a specially trained and equipped unit deployed within the district in high risk situations.
