  • April 07, 2014 - U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe announces the arrest of Samir Azizi by the U.S. Marshals Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force at San Francisco International Airport. Azizi is wanted in Germany for several financial crimes – 89 counts related to tax evasion – committed between 2008 and 2012.
  • February 20, 2014 - U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe is proud to announce the arrest of Ed Mendoza in Santa Rosa, CA. Mendoza has been on the run since 1994. Mendoza was originally arrested in 1994 by DEA agents for his involvement in a cocaine distribution syndicate.
  • February 18, 2014 - The San Francisco Police Department and the U.S. Marshals partnered up over a 3 day period to ensure that those who are required to be on the sex offender registry are in compliance with its rules and regulations. As a result, 14 individuals were arrested for being non-compliant with the sex offender registry.
  • December 11, 2013 - On December 10, 2013, the U.S. Marshals Service Northern District of California, alongside the FBI and the Northern California Regional Intelligence Center, held a press conference to announce the release of www.northerncaliforniamostwanted.org, a website intended to profile fugitives in the Bay Area.
  • September 17, 2013 - Beginning Thursday, September 12, 2013, U.S. Marshals Deputies, Contra Costa Sheriffs Deputies, and a host of partner agencies, began a county-wide sex offender sweep, targeting individuals who were wanted for various crimes as well as performing compliance checks.
  • August 20, 2013 - United States Marshal Don O’Keefe is proud to announce the conclusion of a two week fugitive operation which resulted in the arrest of 25 wanted individuals in the Bay Area.
  • June 14, 2013 - U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe is proud to announce the arrest of Marcus Tillman, who was wanted in Georgia on four counts of child molestation, aggravated sodomy, and first degree cruelty to children. Tillman was profiled on Americas Most Wanted as recently as August 2012. He was sought by authorities after having fled 5 days into his trial in Forsyth County, Georgia. Tillman was eventually convicted in absentia and sentenced to 40 years in prison.
  • May 07, 2013 - Today the U.S. Marshals Service concluded Operation Guardian, a three-year, national initiative specifically targeting the country’s most dangerous noncompliant sex offenders. Deputy Marshals and law enforcement partners arrested 345 individuals nationwide who had failed to register with state authorities as required by law.
  • April 15, 2013 - U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe is proud to announce the arrest of Pedro Medina-Castillon, who is wanted to stand trial in the Superior Court of California, Santa Clara County, for two counts of Homicide.
  • April 05, 2013 - U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe is proud to announce the arrest of John David Beck of Fort Bragg, CA. Beck was arrested today in Berkeley, CA.  Beck was convicted in 2005 in Richmond, VA for conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute marijuana.
  • February 22, 2013 - U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe is proud to announce that yesterday morning, in East Palo Alto, CA, the U.S. Marshals Service Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force, acting on a tip from the U. S. Marshals Vermont Violent Offender Task Force, arrested David Langevin, a Vermont fugitive who was wanted for aggravated sexual assault on a minor.
  • January 08, 2013 - U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe is proud to announce the arrest of Dexter Oliver, who was sought by the San Francisco Police Department for his role in an attack on a woman in San Francisco on Sunday. Allegedly, Dexter Oliver was involved in an altercation with a woman outside of a laundromat in San Francisco’s Bayview district when he threw a flammable liquid on her and set her on fire.
  • September 26, 2012 - Don O’Keefe, the U.S. Marshal for the Northern District of California, is announcing the capture of William Buchholz, wanted in Napa County, California, for failure to register as a sex offender.
  • June 07, 2012 - Fifty years after their escape from U.S. Penitentiary Alcatraz on June 11, 1962, the U.S. Marshals Service remains diligent in the manhunt for Frank Morris and brothers Clarence and John Anglin. They are the only men to escape from Alcatraz Island in San Francisco who remain unaccounted for.
  • May 14, 2012 - Beginning on Monday, May 7, 2012, the Oakland Police Department and the United States Marshals Service, together with several federal and state law enforcement partners, conducted a three-day warrant service operation. The goal of the operation was to clear as many outstanding and high-priority warrants being held by the Oakland Police Department.
  • March 13, 2012 - U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe is proud to announce the arrest of Jarek Brown, wanted for multiple armed robberies, armed carjackings, and assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer.
  • February 07, 2012 - U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe is proud to announce the arrest of Ronald A. Brewington, wanted for homicide. Brewington was indicted nearly 25 years ago in New Mexico for the murder of his wife.
  • January 31, 2012 - U.S. Marshal Don O’Keefe and Oakland Police Chief Howard Jordan are proud to announce the arrest of Remon McDaniels, wanted for homicide in Oakland, CA. The U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, which includes members from the U.S. Marshals, CDC Fugitive Apprehension Team, Oakland Police Department, and San Francisco Police Department, apprehended McDaniels in Pittsburg, CA.
  • December 19, 2011 - On December 17, 2011, Deputies from the Northern District of California participated in a memorial run to benefit the Officer James Capoot Family Trust. The two-mile charity event was attended by many members of the Vallejo community, as well as law enforcement from around the bay area. Officer Capoot was shot and killed on November 17, 2011, during a pursuit of a bank robbery suspect following a high-speed chase.
  • December 08, 2011 - With the assistance of the United States Marshals Service, Oakland Police Department, San Francisco Police Department, Lexington, Kentucky Police Department, and members of the Oakland Community, the suspect responsible for the shooting death of Kayode Foster outside of the Occupy Oakland encampment at Frank Ogawa Plaza on November 10, 2011 has been arrested.
  • November 17, 2011 - The U.S. Marshals Service (USMS) in Northern California, the USMS Pacific Southwest Regional Fugitive Task Force (PSWRFTF), U.S. Marshals Sex Offender Investigations Branch (SOIB), the USMS Tactical Operations Group (TOG) Air Branch, the Organized Crime Drug Enforcement Task Force (OCDETF), USMS Special Operations Group (SOG), the U.S. Attorney’s Office, and the Oakland Police Department (OPD) partnered with the California Department of Corrections, California Highway Patrol, ATF, DEA/HIDTA, Secret Service, and OIG/HUD to conduct a multi-stage warrant sweep and “hot-spot” saturation operation.
  • September 20, 2011 - Don O’Keefe, the U.S. Marshal for the District of Northern California announces the extradition of Lionel Scott Harris from Venezuela. U.S. State Department Agents in San Francisco, working with Deputy U.S. Marshals, located and arrested Harris in Venezuela earlier this year. Harris was convicted of importing marijuana into the United States in excess of 1,000 Kilograms in 1990. Harris failed to appear for sentencing and is thought to have fled to Venezuela at that time.
  • February 04, 201115 Most Wanted Addition - The U.S. Marshals have added California fugitive Sean Michael Sullivan to their 15 Most Wanted fugitive list. During an altercation in November 2010 over an outstanding debt, Sullivan allegedly brandished a firearm and shot two individuals multiple times, fatally wounding one man and paralyzing the other from the waist down.
  • November 09, 2010 - U. S. Marshal Don O’Keefe of the Northern District of California announced the arrest of Maureen Graney. On November 9, 2010 Graney 32, was arrested for custodial interference in Dublin California. During the arrest, investigators located the missing son who has been listed as an endangered missing person from Jasper County, Indiana since July 2010.
  • October 21, 2010 - U. S. Marshal Don O’Keefe of the Northern District of California announces the arrests of Jesse Hartman and Rose Stonesifer. On Monday, Hartman and Stonesifer were arrested for custodial interference at a cabin in southeastern Humbolt County. During the arrest, Deputy U.S. Marshals and a FBI agent located the couple’s infant daughter, who has been an endangered missing person from Cumberland county, PA since March.
  • July 20, 2010 - U. S. Marshal Federico Rocha of the Northern District of California announced the arrest of Jason R. Brown. On July 14, Brown, 28, was arrested in Rio Dell. Brown was wanted for attempted murder and assault with a deadly weapon in Del Norte County for the December 30, 2008 beating of James Craig at a temporary homeless shelter located at the Del Norte County Fairgrounds.
  • June 08, 2010 - U.S. Marshal Federico Rocha of the Northern District of California announces the arrest of Alan May. On June 4, 2010 May was arrested in San Francisco, CA on the run from Texas.  May is wanted by the U.S. Secret Service for over $7 million in a fraud scheme. Allegedly, May set up a fraudulent ponzi scheme in the oil and gas business and assumed multiple identities to evade apprehension.
  • May 04, 2010 - On April 30, Jeff Moturi, brother of Deputy U.S. Marshal Johnny Sanford, signed a free agent contract with the Green Bay Packers. Moturi one of eight players in school history to amass 2000 receiving yards and ranked third in UTEP’s yearly historical records in TD catches completing his collegiate career at the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP).
  • May 04, 2010 - U. S. Marshal Federico Rocha of the Northern District of California announced the arrest of David Gordon Myers. On May 3, Myers was arrested at a Klamath RV Park. Myers was wanted for violation of probation in Humboldt County and was charged in Crescent City with being out of compliance with the state’s sex registration laws. Myers was convicted in 1987 for lewd and lascivious acts with a child under 14 and placed on probation. In 1989, Myers absconded from supervision and failed to update his registration.
  • April 22, 2010 - U. S. Marshal Federico Rocha of the Northern District of California announced the arrest of Timothy Cummings. On April 21, Cummings, 38, was arrested in the 1900 block of 92nd Avenue in Oakland. Cummings wanted for a number of local, state, and federal charges stemming from July 2005 thru May 2009. Allegedly Cummings sexually abused his girlfriend’s daughter. He is charged with aggravated rape, sexual battery and indecent behavior with a juvenile; and failure to appear.
  • March 24, 2010 - The U.S. Marshals Northern California Task Force received information March 18 that a black Chevy Tahoe owned and registered to Jose Valencia-Hernandez, a fugitive wanted out of Vancouver, Wash., for distribution of methamphetamine, possession of firearms, and arson was traveling on the 101 Freeway near Fremont, Calif. Authorities stopped the vehicle, occupied by two men, without incident.
  • March 18, 2010 - U.S. Marshal Federico Rocha of the Northern District of California announces the arrest of 16 individuals in Humboldt County during a Fugitive Task Force Operation conducted Monday.
  • March 08, 2010 - United States Marshal Federico Rocha of the Northern District of California announces the arrest of murder suspect Maurice Baldwin. The U.S. Marshals Service New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force arrested Baldwin, 31, Thursday in East Orange, N.J., without incident. Baldwin is awaiting extradition back to San Pablo, California.
  • January 15, 2010 - A joint effort by the U.S. Marshals Northern California Fugitive Task Force, Fugitive Recovery Enforcement Team, and the San Francisco Police Department resulted in the arrest Wednesday of one of the San Francisco Police Department’s top 10 most wanted fugitives. Steve A. Bahr is wanted for failure to register as a sex offender and an additional sex offense in Mendocino County.
