Prisoner Detention

The USMS is responsible for the Pre-Trial custody of federal prisoners that are placed into the custody of the Attorney General of the United States after an initial court appearance.  On a daily basis the USMS coordinates and produces thousands of federal prisoners for such proceedings as court appearances, attorney meetings, medical procedures, and various other reasons as required by law.

If you are seeking the location of an inmate, this office does not provide the locations of inmates to friends or relatives.  You need to contact the inmate's attorney or try the U.S. Bureau of Prisons' inmate locator web site at www.bop.gov
