United
States Marshals Capture Methamphetamine Trafficker
and Mexico Homicide
Suspect
Phoenix, AZ – The United
States Marshals Service (USMS) High Intensity Drug Trafficking Area
(HIDTA) Task Force arrested Diliberto Arce at a west Phoenix home
last night. Arce, who is an undocumented alien, was wanted on
federal violations in Kansas for methamphetamine trafficking and is
also a suspect in a homicide case in Sinaloa, Mexico.
Task Force members tracked Arce to a house located at the 8700 block
of West Devonshire. As Arce was observed leaving the residence, Task
Force members converged and apprehended him without incident. During
the arrest, stolen .45 caliber and 9mm handguns were recovered along
with approximately two pounds of methamphetamine and five pounds of
marijuana. Several fraudulent ID’s were also found with Arce’s
picture on them.
Arce appeared to be manufacturing the meth in his kitchen, where
bowls of the drug were found on the counter. Arce’s three children
were living in the residence and were tested for exposure since the
meth bowls were sitting next to food. The HIDTA Clandestine Lab
investigation team responded to the residence to collect the drugs
and to ensure the residence was free of possible biohazard issues.
Arce’s girlfriend, Yamin Torres-Renteria, was also arrested for
being in the country illegally. She was turned over to Immigration
and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers.
“Fugitives from Mexico must realize they cannot hide in our country,
and furthermore, continue their criminal activity while living in
the United States”, says United States Marshal David Gonzales. “Mr.
Arce was not only endangering his life, but the life of his family,
neighbors and law enforcement officials.”
The United States HIDTA Task Force consists of deputies and officers
from the U.S. Marshals, Department of Public Safety (DPS), Mesa P.D.,
Maricopa County Probation Office, Phoenix P.D., Bureau of Alcohol,
Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, U.S. Postal Inspector Service,
and Chandler P.D.
